Nederland/Eldora Overview

Mountain town, complete with frozen dead guy, adjacent to popular skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and hiking spots.

Located 17 miles west of Boulder, Nederland is the largest town (population near 1500) along the Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway that runs 55 miles from Black Hawk/Central City to Estes Park. Nederland is distinguished by its mining history, the adjacent Eldora Mountain Resort, the award-winning Mountain-Ear newspaper and colorful characters, including the frozen dead guy. Winter visitors ski and snowboard at Eldora, or choose a nearby trail for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, and warm-weather visitors hike throughout the area. Nederland is a prime viewing spot in the fall for our gorgeous golden aspens.
